With Klaus Ludwig #9 an Kurt Thiim #11 driving DTM 190 E 2.5-16 EVO-II’s, it was the first DTM 190 E 2.5-16 time that the top factory team in this vehicle category had competed alongside Group A cars such as the mighty twin-turbo Nissan Skyline GTR. The race was won by Emanuele Pirro in a DTM BMW M3 but Kurt Thiim took second place and Klaus Ludwig finished third. Mercedes had set the fastest lap time for a saloon car in the history of the Macau Guia race. The Mercedes-Benz DTM 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II weighs 1,000 kilos with an engine capacity of 2.5 liters producing 310 bhp. The car can reach to a top speed of 280 kmh.
