Following back to back Championships with Michael Schumacher, the Italian team from Maranello definitely had the momentum and resources in place to produce the fastest race car for 2002. Chief among the new design was an all new All-Titanium Transmission block that housed the Engine, Differential, and Gearbox “all in one” by cleverly eliminating the heavy bell housings. Together with an electro-hydraulic differential, weight was reduced, center of gravity decreased which allowed the car to rev higher and accelerate much faster. Additionally, the new design aided in lowering the F2002 side pods which delivered tremendous aerodynamic advantages. The result? Ferrari would go on to claim their third Drivers and Constructors Championship with Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello winning 15 out of 17 races!
